Nahant Art

Amateur artists are invited to display and sell artwork based on Nahant Marsh at the Nahant Marsh Education Center for up to six months. The goal of this ongoing event is to promote and benefit local artists as well as the marsh preserve. Half the proceeds from each piece will go to the artist and half will benefit Nahant Marsh. In addition to displaying pieces in our Education Center, Nahant will also bring selected pieces to area events, such as Bald Eagle Days and the Earth Week Fair, to display and sell. Nahant will accept submissions seasonally, on a first-come, first-served basis.  If, after six months, a piece has not sold, the artist may either take it back or donate it to Nahant. Please note the following guidelines:

• Submitted artwork should be ready to display/sell
• Please provide your name and contact info upon entry.
• Artwork should be based on Nahant Marsh
• Fall 2011 submission deadline is 10/31/11

We ask that the maximum sizes of pieces be as follows,

• Photographs: 8”  x 10”
• Drawings and watercolors: 11” x 14”
• Paintings: 18” x 24”

While prices will depend on the piece, and are negotiable with the artist, we ask that the maximum prices for pieces be as follows,

• Photographs: $12
• Drawings and Watercolors: $20
• Paintings: $75

Toddler Tales

Time: The third Thursday of each month, from 10:00am to 11:00am

Location: Nahant Marsh Education Center

Cost: $3 per child, free for members

Theme: Fish

Join us for story and craft time at the marsh! Each month we will introduce a new, nature-related theme and the stories and crafts will center on that theme.  It will be a great way to stimulate your child's imagination while allowing them to learn about nature, wildlife, and the great outdoors!

We are welcoming suggestions for future themes!
