Though often not recognized, the Quad Cities Area is home to a great diversity of fruiting basidiomycete fungi, more commonly known as “mushrooms.” Though seemingly elusive, participants will be given an introduction on the potential environment’s fungi may grow in and how to responsibly collect and identify them in the field.
Classes will take place in a variety of locations in the QC Region.
Be prepared for medium to difficult hiking conditions and dress for the weather.
All participants will receive their own mushroom identification book.
